I heard the news today – early in the morning. It changed my whole agenda, because I went from black to white in honor of Nelson Mandela. Rest in peace, you were always a formidable combination.

I’ll present the portrait when it’s finished – I can’t leave it in the state of a study. Thank you for your understanding. Now it changes a whole week’s plans – if not more.

We all carry tiny spots of others in our hearts – people that affect our hearts and characters.
Nelson Mandela has had a significant influence on me. When I think of him – how he’s been and how he’s changed the world – it’s easy to see that he truly has been someone special.
Don’t get me wrong, we all are special in some particular way, it lies in our individuality. But to me, being special got an additional meaning.

Nelson Mandela has fulfilled a special role in his life  – and to be aware of that, is what he’s taught me: Be someone special.
Be a mother – Be a father – Be a friend – Be a mentor – Be aware of your special role and live it to the fullest and greatest you can – just like he did.
He’ll always be a role model to me.

Hi + Welcome. "You want what you create to live" is something I was taught one day and something I apply to my creations; my art and my words. Enjoy it for the simple thing that it is. I am Alwina Simon.
